新潟の橋50選に選定されています。今では珍しくなった木製の吊り橋で、橋下に広がる中津川渓谷は絶景です。
西川美和監督、オダギリジョーさん主演の映画🎦『ゆれる』（平成18年カンヌ国際映画祭出展作品）の舞台となったことでも知られています。
冬季間は、除雪しないため見られません。
